Celebrate the harvest season in the valley with musicians, historic cooking demonstrations and tastings, children's crafts, and more! New this year, Words in Motion present Voices in the Valley, a theatrical exploration of Todmorden's history.

Fall Family Festival at the Pickering Village Museum

Come to the annual fundraising event for Pickering Museum Village Foundation. This Fall family festival features music, children's activities, a rubber duckie race, and even more fun for the whole family.

High Park Harvest Festival

HarbourKIDS: Thanksgiving

For more fun, inspiration, and creativity than you could ever find on a hay wagon, HarbourKIDS: Thanksgiving serves up a full day of hands-on artistic expression, imagination, and accomplishment... and it’s all free! You can audition at Zack Werner’s Idol School competition, rock out with host Terra Hazelton on the Redpath Stage, take in an interactive storytelling experience with Singer/Songwriter Orit Shimoni, and much more!

Comic Books and Other Hooks Workshop
October 18, 2013 - 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm

Comic Books and Other Hooks is a reading and writing workshop for parents and students (grades 2 to 8). Join us for a truly entertaining and educational workshop. Mr. Manfred J. von Vulte, the Canadian Director of the Comic Book Project and Comics Go Global, uses comic books as a means of rapidly increasing Language Arts competencies for all students.

Family Halloween Train Rides
October 19 & 20, 26 & 27, 2013

Each year, the GTA’s only tourist railway runs its very popular family Halloween Trains. On board the decorated trains are ghosts, ghouls, and other entertainment for young and old alike. Trains operate from the Uxbridge and Stouffville stations and have lots of Halloween activities. All children (aged up to 12 years) dressed in their best and scariest Halloween costumes will travel free!

POWER KIDS: Verbal Self Portraits
October 20, 2013 - 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm

Inspired by Micah Lexier’s Self Portrait as Wall Text, kids will explore the potential of text and language to express aspects of identity in self portraits that are both visual and verbal. Kids will use a variety of artistic media such as ink, markers, collage, and stenciling to create their individual self portraits, and will take them home at the end of the session.

Bloor West Village Halloween Festival

Toronto Zombie Walk & Halloween Parade
October 26, 2013 - 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm

They’re back, they’re hungry, and they’re not staying 6 feet under any longer! In 2012, 10,000 zombies crawled and lurched their way from their graves to walk the streets of Toronto! Starting in Nathan Phillips Square, the walk will weave a path along the streets where bloody participants can practice their best moans for "braaaaaains." New this year, a Halloween parade!

Halloween Hoot and Boo Barn at Riverdale Farm
October 26 to 27, 2013

Halloween Hoot and Boo Barn is a ghoulish and ghastly celebration! Surrounded by late 18th century architecture and tools, guests are ushered through a sprawling vegetable garden and pumpkin patch to get into the Halloween spirit; then, at the pumpkin carving station, monsters and otherworldly creatures come to life with the help of the farm’s staff. Nearby, a cook prepares sweet and savory treats in a roaring wood-fired oven.

High Park Pumpkin Float
October 27, 2013

At the north end of High Park carve a pumpkin, light it, and set it to sail on the wading pool.
Cost: $2.50 per pumpkin

Toronto West Halloween Fest
October 27, 2013

Join your family, friends and neighbours and be part of Toronto’s best and most exciting Halloween event. Presented by Scotiabank, the 2nd Annual Toronto West Halloween Fest is even bigger and better this year. Proceeds from this fun annual event will support St. Joe's.
