Basecamp Climbing is Toronto's newest and most central family-friendly rock-climbing gym.

Looking for an active, family-friendly climbing gym in Toronto? Basecamp Climbing is the city's newest and most central rock-climbing gym, located directly across from Christie subway station. There are over 7,000 square feet of climbing surface and over 100 routes. The spaces features slab, flat wall climbs, overhang climbing, a large prow for tough lead climbs and with walls that are nearly 40 feet tall, Basecamp is the tallest gym in the city. It's a gym for climbers of all skill levels, including kids!

Climbing is a natural movement for children and indoor rock climbing offers physical and mental challenges for kids. Base Climbing has mini harnesses and helmets, and some pretty adorable little climbing shoes. Here are some of the programs they offer for the younger crowd:

Kids Drop-in Programs

Parents can bring their kids anytime to use auto belays, however parent supervision for children under 12 is required at all times.

Weekend Kids Climb

A 2-hour supervised session by Basecamp's belay staff is available, while you take some time for yourself! Single children can to be included in a previously booked group. You must book 3 days in advance and a minimum of 2 kids is required to run the program.

Recreational Classes

Classes offer an amazing opportunity for eager young climbers! Basecamp offers weekly after-school training with drills, creative games, and clinics. Experienced coaches craft specialized drills, creative games and clinics, creating an experience like no other! Some of the main skill sets these recreational program cultivates are: goal setting, problem analysis and the strategic development of customized solutions. Kids Club Drop In

The kids club is the perfect fit for any parents looking to add their child to a drop-in class that is offered on the same day every week. These drop-in classes will have kids of all ages from 6 and up. It is run by friendly Basecamp staff who customize a daily program to help develop your child’s skillsets in areas like problem solving and learning to interpret feedback from failure and success. Whether they try it once or decide to join the club every week, this option allows kids to climb and interact with other children for fun.

Basecamp is a great place for kids providing a fun and active way for them to burn some excess energy! In addition to ongoing classes and drop-in programs, you also celebrate a birthday party or sign up for seasonal camps.
