10th annual Salmon Festival at Highland Creek

Each fall, salmon make the long journey from Lake Ontario, swimming and jumping up Toronto’s rivers and creeks to spawn. On October 6, the public is invited to take in this exciting natural migration as part of the 10th annual Salmon Festival at Highland Creek.

Organized by Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), this free public event takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Morningside Park in Scarborough. In addition to offering members of the public the opportunity to watch salmon as they swim upstream, the Salmon Festival at Highland Creek is a great opportunity to take a walk along the creek and enjoy the area’s stunning fall colours. The family-friendly event will also feature face painting, games for kids and the opportunity for attendees to learn about protecting salmon and their habitats.

For more information about the event, visit trca.ca.
