More About Canadian Girls Baseball
Canadian Girls Baseball (“CGB”) is a fun, inclusive league for girls ages 4-16 who want to play baseball, regardless of their ability. CGB teaches girls how to play to win and learn how to lose with grace. Participation with CGB can have a very positive impact on a child’s self-esteem and confidence.
Being a part of a CGB team can help girls develop social skills that will benefit them throughout their entire lives. They learn to interact not only with other children their age, but also with older individuals in their coaches and sports officials. As a player of a CGB team, girls will learn leadership skills, team-building skills and communication skills that will help them in school, their future career and personal relationships.
Girls who participate in CGB programs get praise and encouragement from coaches and parents, which helps to build self-confidence. They also learn to trust in their own abilities and push themselves. Constructive criticism is also a major part of team sport participation, and young athletes learn to accept such criticism and how to use it to their benefit. CGB offers programming year-round. Coaching is provided by Canadian national and Ontario provincial women's baseball team players.
