The city of Toronto has opened registration for it's upcoming Spring Break CampTO! Two options are being offered this year; in-person and online camps. This year's March Break is now taking place in April, from the 12th to the 16th.
Spring Break In-Person CampTO
In-Person CampTO will run out of various community centres in the city, offering kids a wide variety of activities through games, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor nature-based activities. Campers will be safely supervised. They will have to maintain physical distancing, wear a mask and follow other safety guidelines.
Campers will each be given their own supplies for activities so they don't have to share materials and equipment with others. Likewise, groups of campers will be created for each week to avoid interactions with other campers. While there won't be field trips, campers will be able to safely explore local neighbourhoods and parks. The in-person camp is for kids 6-12 years of age.
Virtual Spring Break CampTO
For parents wanting to keep kids at home, there is also a virtual camp option! Programming will be live and interactive, and those attending will experience a virtual trip from coast to coast across Canada.
Campers will be making stops in five areas throughout the week:
- Monday – Scavenger Hunt in the 6ix
- Tuesday – Arts in Montreal
- Wednesday – Fitness Fun in Vancouver
- Thursday – Cooking in Quebec
- Friday – Family Fun special event
Participants will be emailed the workshop program plan in advance to prepare the appropriate supplies needed for the workshop(s) they have registered for. Each workshop is between 45 minutes to an hour in duration, and you'll need to register for each one individually. These daily web-based sessions will be led by counsellors for the following age groups: 4 to 5, 6 to 9 and 10 to 12. To attend this camp, kids will require a smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer, and internet access.
Don't miss out on the fun this coming Spring Break. Register today as this camp will fill up quickly. There are 1,500 spots available for each camp (both in-person and virtual.)
