If you missed any of the Doors Open events this past year, there’s still an opportunity to visit many of Ontario’s participating sites virtually throughout 2020.
Since 2002, the Ontario Heritage Trust's Doors Open Ontario program has encouraged Ontarians to discover the stories inside the province's most unique and fascinating historic places, cultural, and natural sites – all free of charge.
Doors Open Ontario ‘Virtual Tours’ features many of Ontario’s treasured places with photos, virtual tours, videos, searchable collections, and online games and activities for the kids. The Trust will be adding more content until the end of the year. Ontarians are also welcome to share their own pictures, videos and experiences of past Doors Open events or special places in their communities on social media using the hashtag #DoorsOpenOntario.
Sites you can visit virtually include The National Air Force Museum of Canada, the David Dunlap Observatory in Richmond Hill, Dundurn Castle in Hamilton, The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto, the Oakville Museum and many more.
Go on some fun adventures in Niagara Falls including taking a helicopter ride over the Falls, Journey behind the Falls, or take a zip-line ride at the Falls!
